De facto, not de iure
We measure what organisations actually do — not what they declare.
De iure — declarations
Traditional systems measure what an organisation has on paper: statutes, policies, board composition. That is a photograph.
De facto — behaviours
Rating Certo measures actual behaviours: does the board meet regularly? Does it respond to stakeholders? Does it fulfil obligations on time? That is a film.
Principle of Human Control over Ratings
Certo ratings are the result of methodologies designed, approved and supervised by humans. No IT tool has decision-making autonomy in establishing, modifying or publishing ratings.
